About Zinc Rich (80)

Em Guard  38  Zinc Rich (80)

PRODUCT  DESCRIPTION

Em-Guard  38  zinc Rich ( 80 )  is a epoxy polyamide primer containing 80 82 % Zinc on dry film by weight recommended for use under corrosive conditions on blast cleaned steel surfaces. It dries fast and is superior to conventional epoxy primers because it imparts cathodic protection to the bare metal and does not interfere with most of the fabrication operations. It possesses satisfactory weld-through and cutting properties when applied to 10 to 15 microns DFT

RECOMMENDED USAGE

As a long life primer on steel subjected to severely corrosive marine and industrial environment.

SURFACE PREPARATION

Before application of the primer, all surface must be clean, dry and free from mill scale. Blast cleaning to Sa 2.5 grade of international standard to ISO 8501/1: 1988 is the only satisfactory method of preparing steel surfaces.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTION

Thinner consumption may vary depending upon site conditions. Practical covering capacity depends on application techniques, ambient conditions, wastage, surface condition etc. Surface temperature must be 30C above Dew Point to prevent condensation.
